Teagan is 10!

May 5, 2004 I became a mommy!!! There is nothing like your first kid making you a parent. I love all my kids but Teagan was the one that brought me into the realm of parenthood. He is such a caring and intelligent boy! I am proud of him and he does well with everything he tries. He's smart and listens and is very helpful at home. He is going to be an amazing big brother!

Teagan got lots of great gifts. These are from Aunt Candy and Uncle Brian but the best gift is when they move to AZ!!!

And I had to use this. Aw!!! Lehi and Teagan I drove in from Coolidge to have pictures for Father's Day. So sweet!

4 Score and 7 years ago, wait what!!!

So Ashlyn only turned 4 back in August. I wanted to post about her after her party. We had a little get together last weekend. My sister came out from FL for another event so I took advantage of her being her and had the party that weekend. We did a Rapunzel themed party and Ashlyn enjoyed her day. She is already planning for next year. Heaven help us!!! She had a wonderful time and is very loved! Ashlyn is spunky and sassy. She likes to tell people what to do and she has not concept of time. Everything we do in the past is "remember when we did such and such yesterday?"  She hates sleeping alone in her bedroom and since Brian has been working nights she generally is found in our bed with me. She loves sucking her thumb (UGH) and petting her pillow pet at the same time. She goes to preschool 3 days a week and I have a hard time thinking she will start kindergarten next year! How is that possible!!!! She is very independent and I have power struggles with her each day for preschool when I don't allow her to dress herself. I want her looking cute at least three days a week!!! In September she started taking tumbling classes from a lady in our ward. She LOVES to go and if I tell her it's Tuesday that's all she asks about. I am glad she is able to do this extra activity just for her! Brian and I both totally spoil her!!! Poor brothers! Ashlyn is so imaginative lately as well. She loves animals, her favorites are dogs and horses. Today at dinner she said she was allergic to bees. Well she has never been stung and neither have I. My sister is allergic so there is a possibility. She then said she was also allergic to horses. I had to laugh because she has been asking about going horseback riding for the past few weeks. I keep telling her soon around Halloween. They were able to ride on horses at a Pumpkin Patch last year and we plan to go again. So when she stated this I laughed and said well I guess you can't ride them. Then on cure she oh no I am not I love horses. She is so funny. Ashlyn is none stop all day long, but I really do admire her spunk and energy. I know she is a great girl with lots of potential. She loves her buddies at preschool and also at tumbling. A few are even in her Sunbeam class.

Just recently, she was in the Primary Program this year. Her part was "I am a child of God" she memorized it, but generally said it as "I child of God." Sunday came and she pretty much freaked. I walked her up and she wanted no part. I even sat with her, but nope she was too scared. Glad I knew all the songs so I didn't just sit there mute! Hopefully next year will be better for her!

I took some pictures with some of her favorite things and how big she is. She was cracking me up. Of course all the pics I have of her party loaded the wrong way so I will just blog those later. She is one sweet special little girl of ours!!! And of course got to get in that tumbling pic!!!!

Cupcakes + Ice Cream Cones= YUM

When I was a little girl, I honestly dreamed about the day I could make up the fun birthday treats for my future children to share on their special days. Now that I am a mom the kids can't even take a baked good to school! They have to be store bought! :( Well at least preschool is still an option for some baking fun. I decided to make Ashlyn some Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes to take to her classroom friends. Since Ashlyn was feeling sick on her birthday she did not make it to preschool on the day after her birthday to share a treat. So I waited until Monday night to make these up for preschool on Tuesday. Ashlyn was excited to help me with the sprinkles on Tuesday morning. I also had her help me pass out the cupcakes to all the kids. I think they were all excited about their ice cream treat, except it might have gone over better had it actually been real ice cream! When we got to preschool Ashlyn was doing very well listening to Mrs. Spier and doing the motions to the song they are learning. But when she noticed we were there she lost ALL interest in the class and only wanted us. She was happy though when she realized she had treats to share and that mommy and daddy were not leaving her alone.

A Little Bit Of Ashlyn

She has been talking up a storm lately ... FINALLY!!! Tonight I asked her, "Ashlyn what kind of birthday do you want?" Her responses, "I want presents!" Not even 3 and she already knows what to expect. Seriously this girl is going to give us a run for our money like no other! Tomorrow we go and meet her preschool teacher. I have been telling her the name of her teacher and she has get to repeat it. After dinner she thought it was time to go and insisted, " I go to Mrs. Spier's." She is excited to start preschool, and I am excited for her to learn lots of new things! I hope tomorrow goes well and her first day is Thursday, let's pray for no tears!!!

Rayle-be-bear

Mister Rayle had a birthday SHOUT hurray! I can't believe my little guy is six years old, but oh how he wishes he was a little older. Can we say JEALOUSY between him and Teagan. He wants to be 8 like crazy! He wants to be baptized and going to scouts. Next week we have our first pack meeting since Teagan joined scouts and I am afraid at how that will go. Hopefully Rayle can behave himself! Rayle is a wonderful kid! I love his intrinsic style. That kid will dress for the nines. He loves the ladies this one. Last year in preschool a few girls were after our blonde blue eyed little gentlemen. WATCH OUT! This last year at school a little girl caught his eye and man it is so cute the way he talks or acted around her. If they are in the same class next year we may have to watch him even closer! Rayle still loves superheros and dressing up like those crime fighters. He also recently became a little Harry Potter fan, but perfers the movies over the books that I am making us read! Rayle can have a temper, but then also be the sweetest kindest thing there is. He and Ashlyn generally get along. Teagan and Rayle clash a lot but with them only being two years apart and sharing a room, that's bound to happen. Rayle is a wonderful eater for the most part, and will try anything if there is no pepper on it. He does not like black pepper and looks closely for any of it in all meals I make. Stinks because pepper is such a wonderful spice! Yesterday at Rayle's well check he measured in at 43 inches and 36 pounds. He had jumped in percentile just a tab with height being at 22% and weight around 10%. Small but gaining. I am surprised he has not passed Teagan yet. Rayle has yet to lose a tooth and he swears there are some wiggly teeth, but nothing coming out yet. Rayle did wonderful in his first year of school. I constantly got reports home of a wonderful well behaved student. Glad is such a wonderful boy at school. He also did well making Honor Roll all four quarters at school and had straight A's!!! So proud of that kid! This last year he also learned how to tie his shoes, but still prefers to slip on his other pair of Nike's. He also loves the beach I think the most out of all the kids. He couldn't get enough in FL, and since it was FREEZING in CA he still got in but not as much. I hope in the fall we can focus him into some after school activities that can be all his own, and his behavior will improve here. Love him so much and so grateful he is a part of our family!
