Thoughts
Today in Relief Society we had a lesson which really hit home for me. It was a little about how the world and it's view on marriage and family are shifting. This has actually been on my mind but not so up front and bam! I have been thinking back to being a kid and what did I look forward to on Fridays? Remember the old anagram TGIF? All those fun shows geared towards the family staying home and watching some fun entertainment! Well TGIF is not something my kids look forwards to, so why is that? Well most of my generation that watched these shows, Full House, Family Matters, and others do not have children yet. We as a society have felt that careers and life style should come before starting that family. Also the number of children that we consider to be enough has gone down. I grew up with one older brother and one younger sister. In "Mormon" terms this is not a large family. Now having one child seems like enough. And waiting until careers are in place before we think about marriage is the norm. I remember my dad stressing college then marriage. Well I didn't go that route, and I am glad I didn't. I was barely 21 when Brian and I wed and only 23 when I had Teagan. I am grateful that I started my family young and I wish that family would become the center again. That's what I always wanted to be was a mother. I didn't want to wait! We did celebrate two years of marriage before Teagan was born though and I am happy that we spent two years getting to know each other. Now as I am expecting #4 I am sure outsiders think she had two boys and one girl that is plenty. But to me, who always dreamed of being a mom it's not. I would have guilt and regret if I was just done, now I am not planning of starting some TV shows The Gibson's 4 and Counting, haha but to me the family is the most important thing! The reason why I am here in the first place. I chose to agree to the Plan of Salvation and come to Earth. I wanted to be a mother and rear my children towards God. Now I am still learning! Not perfect at all but I am trying and I am thankful to have my beliefs. I want others to look at me and know I CHOSE to be a mother! I CHOSE to have my children. So far they have all been planned!!! And I can honestly say that I don't think #4 is my done number. Now Brian will probably disagree here but the plan had not been to wait so long to have more children. But I could not and would not bring another baby into the place we lived prior. Life was at a standstill at that place with no progress and we were all so already cramped and stressed. So baby #4 has been waiting. I always say you can't wait until the perfect timing so I guess I didn't heed my own advice but life was not great. So I jumped now. Are we financially stable? Nope! But I know we are going to welcome #4 and all will be okay. For me life is not about the wealth at the end of life but what we do during this time on Earth. I wanted to be a mother and so that's what I am doing.

Blogging eek!
I know I have been HORRIBLE about keeping this up! So bad because yesterday I was browsing old posts and all the stuff I have forgotten but because I wrote about it, it jogged my memory or in the least made me smile! So here is a recap. Christmas was low key as in very low key. We didn't do the traditional Gibson family Chrismas Eve because Brian was scheduled to work that night. The morning of they blanked the job but we had already canceled so instead we went and saw the Disney movie Frozen!!! Totally fell in love with the movie. I bought the soundtrack the 26th and the rest of the break we rocked out to all the great music! We didn't do too much over break kids just enjoyed their Christmas treasures. January seemed to fly by maybe because I knew I was flying to FL. Only major event I remember is the PineWood Derby. Teagan had a cool car but dad should have added more weight. Oh well next year! And there will be two racers! Beginning of February I flew to FL to be with Candy during her surgery. It was hard to see her go through this struggle. I hope soon everything will be behind her and she will be happy and healthy! For my birthday we went to the Renniassnce Festival! The kids didn't really enjoy it like I thought they would. We didn't spend enough money because they wanted to do more of the hands on things then watching the shows and such. Next time maybe it will be better since they will know what to expect. Who knows! Teagan had a Science Fair and we procrastinated like crazy. Finally worked on it a few days before it was due. However he did get choosen from his class to be a finalist. Only four kids from each class were submitted, so that's pretty awesome! He got a certificate and a ribbon. Also we had our Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts. I am cub master in the ward and share with two other ladies in setting and planning Pack Meetings. It was a tad crazy because we had an RSVP and people showed with out confirming. Hate that! There was a hustle to set up more tables and of course the food went quickly. The theme was Winter Olympics and the kids enjoyed the decor and games. We played floor hockey (favorite game) used spoons and spatulas for the hockey sticks, also had a louge, and moguls. I was in the hockey room so didn't see how the rest of the events went but heard for the most part I was great! That was some stress let me tell ya! The next meeting is coming up and should be more low key! Now it's Spring Break for the boys and I have the baby I watch so not a lot happening! The baby is teething so cranky is an understatement! Hopefully it's awhile before more teeth come! Next week is baby's mom break and they are going to Disney so Thomas is staying with us! Man I hope I survive night feedings because it's been awhile since I had to be aware at night! Maybe I'll make up the water for the bottles and then I just have to add the formula. Thankfully he really is a good baby! I have gotten good news lately any share yet but when I am struggling it's nice to think about the happiness I know about. Hopefully March will continue to be good. The weather here is beautiful door open every day. Love it! Now if I can just get some better rest at night. I am sure it because Brian is gone and I worry. At least it seems I catch up on the weekends! Oh yeah the Open House for the Gilbert Temple was amazing!!! I was able to take the kids twice and both times it was beautiful beyond words! So glad we were able to go. Just wish Brian had been able to come.

Oh February where have you gone???
2010 is speeding by and I am missing it. Where did February go I would like to know. I am now practically only 11 more months closer to turning 30. This can not be happening. Where did my twenties go? Oh yeah I got married and had three kids. I am in my second class with University of Phoenix. I decided to take it SLOW and have a nice three week break between courses. Ashlyn needs her mommy more than I need to rush through school. I helped out at the Farmhouse Boutique a couple of weekends this month. Part of my family got together to remember my dad on the 16th. I still can't believe it has been 6 years. It seems just like yesterday he was here. Brian lost his Great Grandpa this past Friday. He has gone to be with his sweet wife that left this world nine years ago in March. Today we got the privilege to travel up to Camp Verde to witness Brian's Grandma Betty get baptized. Ashlyn is now 6 months old. Yeah this one is crazy since now she will be a year old in just another short six months. She is such a sweet baby and we are so lucky that Heavenly Father has given us the opportunity to be in her life. We saw some great friends, Brian worked on some changes to our home. All great improvements. I am sure this month has brought other fun, crazy, and memory filled things, but I can't think of anymore that are standing out right now. Tomorrow I am starting March off right, I am going to learn how to make jam. Can't wait!!!
