So thankfully for our Yukon XL

A few weekends ago we went camping up at Wood's Canyon Lake. We love going up there since it is so nice and green and there are pine trees aplenty. We drove up on Friday and when we got to Payson I asked Brian again about the temperature. His response was it was going to be nice. Well his nice and my nice are way different. I guess I need to be more specific in the weather reading because 40 degrees during the day is not my idea of nice because the nights you know are going to get colder! Thankfully I had packed the boys warm jackets, didn't think I would need snow boots or other snow gear! Yep we get up to Wood's Canyon and there is snow. Not completely covered, but large patches. The camping area we had planned on going to we could not because of the snow. I did not want to try and push the trail out if we got stuck. So we found another area, which was even better and set up camp. Teagan and Rayle LOVE camping. Tank had so much fun too. He had never been in snow, and was like swimming on the top of it. It was pretty funny to see. After we set up Brian wanted Teagan to drive his quad around by himself. He did pretty good. I got some video of it so make sure you watch it. Rayle enjoys pushing the gas full speed. You have to hold the brake and then you still feel like you are going to crash. That kid is something else. No way is he driving by himself until he is less crazy. So that night is when it got fun! We all have pretty nice sleeping bags, ours go down to 35 degrees and the boys go do to 15. Well Brian and I were so cold! The boys seemed fine, and I would have crawled in with Rayle but he has a mummy bag. So what were we to do, have mom and dad freeze to death and the boys wake up to that. We thought about coming home but I did not want to pack up in the middle of the night. So Brian took everything out of the Yukon and made up our beds in the back. Thankfully the boys are still small because in a few years that would not happen. We tried to get Tank to come in the back too, but he was too scared to get in. We put him in the tent with a sleeping bag and hoped he would be okay. We were glad that we did not pack up because we had another fun and relaxing day on Saturday. Later in the afternoon we packed up and headed home. I love camping and how peaceful it is. I could go every weekend I told Brian. Just to get away for a night is so nice. Here are some pictures, and if you want to go we love going with other people too.
Rayle had found a burnt stick and then wipes his face. Nice!

The boys did such a good job driving the quad! It was so cute to see Rayle chasing after his brother. I'm not brave enough to camp out with even the slightest amount of snow on the ground... but I'm glad you guys found a way to keep warm!

I can't believe Teagan on his quad, what a good driver...what a lucky boy to have his own quad.
