Merry Christmas 2014

Oh I need to post so bad! I just wanted to write up about Christmas and how excited I am this year. With being tight on funds Brian and I were pretty clueless as what to get our kids. Then there is the fact our children already have SO much stuff. What will they remember when they are grown? That awesome Lego set or that Barbie? I know for me personally I do remember a few awesome gifts, but that is not what I think of when my parents come to mind. So instead of a thing, we opted to give The Gift of Time. Each child will get to do something special each month with either Brian or I. So a special one on one date they will get to look forward to. Six dates with Brian and six dates with me for each child.  We came up with most of the ideas, but the kids will get to pick two of their own choices. I am super  excited about this and the kids came and asked me what it was before we got up to open gifts. I think once we start doing this they will start to understand, and really appreciate it. I feel this gift is more on the lines of what Christmas is all about. If it works well I want to do this gift every year. We didn't include Nolan this year as he is one so little, and two he already spends LOTS of one on one time with us haha. To keep track I made up this poster and we will mark the date of the event for each child. Can't wait to begin!!! Merry Christmas to all!

Happy Happy Gobble Gobble Day

I honestly can not believe that Thanksgiving has come and past us by. Where is 2011 going???? Anyone else feel it's like warp speed?

I am so grateful for this year, it's been very nice to be a mom to our children and watch them learn and grow. I am so excited for next month, giddy actually!!! I just want to break everything out and give it to my kids! I can't wait to see their little faces light up! Christmas is the best time of the year, and though the year has flown by, I am glad it's almost here. I have been finding deals here and there. We got Teagan's main gift at the end of July, and I don't KEEP secrets very well. It's been tough to keep it under wraps. We still have a little more shopping but we are almost done, and it's so fun! I am glad that we can spend a little extra on our children and let them feel the love of the season. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and had many things to be grateful for, I know I did.

Santa, yep already!!!

Today at Frys they were passing out free samples, and Santa was also there. We shopped, had some Yummy snacks, and got a quick pic with the jolly old man. I was a tad afraid because last year Ashlyn was not so happy to be near the Claus. (Link here back to 2010 Santa Photo) This year was amazing I got her out of the shopping cart and she literally ran right up and stood for a picture opp! So glad I didn't have a screaming, crying, upset child leaving the store. Happy girl= happy mommy!!!

A Sedona Christmas

To celebrate Christmas with my Mom and Jon the kids and I headed up to Sedona. We left on Sunday, and we came home today, Thursday. It was nice to get out of our house for a few days and relax in a beautiful place. The resort we stayed at was wonderful and the kids had fun playing somewhere new. Brian was unable to come up as he had to work. We have missed him and wished he could have been up there with us. We had lots of fun and here are just a few of the pics I took. I will upload more another day. I need to prepare for tomorrow.

This is a tree made out of poinsettia plants. It was really neat!

Rayle and Teagan LOVED the leaves on the ground and they had fun throwing and kicking them around.
Ashlyn LOVED sweeping the floor. I need one of these for at home. She could clean my floors everyday!!
This girl LOVES phones. You can't put yours down for a second or she'll have it scooped up and talking to someone. She will even find it if it's in reach which she has been able to reach MANY things. We always have to be careful where we place our stuff, my mom found that out this week too. (Yep we just unplugged that phone right away! No calls for her!)

A Merry Christmas

We had a very quiet Christmas this year, only one other house to travel too. It was nice to be in our own home for the holiday, even if we had barely moved in. Teagan was SO EXCITED this year. He was the first to wake, and I wish I had a camera for his reaction when he came into our room to inform us Santa had come. He put his hands on his cheeks and said, "Mom, Santa came I am soooooooooooooo excited!" It was very cute. Then he runs back and gets all the gifts into piles for who they belong too. I am so mean I made him put them back under the tree. We waited until my mom and step dad came and joined us for breakfast. The boys were really patient waiting for them too. The boys opened up their gifts from Santa and were very happy. After breakfast Brian's Mom, Grandma, and sister came over to see the kids. Later that day we went over to Brian's step dads for dinner. It was nice and relaxing. I love the holidays and with the move it was a little crazy this year. I can't wait until next year and then it will be more enjoyable and we can really celebrate and remember why we have this time of year.
